Dr. Bishop grew up in San Diego, CA and attended both undergraduate and veterinary school at the University of California, Davis. He completed a medical internship in New York after graduation, and practiced in southern California for several years before relocating to Portland in 2018. A crazy animal kid for his entire life, Dr. Bishop loves almost everything about animals and science. While in veterinary school, he wrote a case report on black rhino skin disease, and worked on a marine mammal stranding team in the San Juan Islands. His special interests include anesthesia and analgesia, dermatology, and evidence-based veterinary medicine. One of his passions is education, and he loves sharing his knowledge with clients to give his patients the best care possible. He takes a problem-oriented approach to every case, and carefully considers you and your pet’s individual needs.
Dr. Bishop is also passionate about tacos, and wants your recommendations on the best ones in town. He loves hiking, ocean sports, drawing, reading, and spending time with his lovely wife and son. He has two dogs, a grumpy old chihuahua and a “simple” pitbull who thinks she’s descended from royalty.
